Compact, Good replacement for a real fan, Good number of options, No lightFor years I’ve used a fan at night to fall asleep but now I use this and I love it! Over time, fans start to wear out and make the dreaded squeaking sound. As someone who uses fans strictly for the white noise element, the squeak is a problem and I’ve gone through many fans. I put off switching to a white noise machine because I was worried it wouldn’t mimic a fan well enough and would be hard for me to transition to. But I transitioned to this seamlessly. In fact, my husband, who often goes to sleep before I do, turned it on and when I came in to go to bed, I didn’t even notice a difference. Truthfully, I like this a lot better than a fan. The sound is consistent (I don’t use nature sounds because I find the inconsistency distracting), you can adjust the sound level, and there are a good amount of sound options. The fact that it doesn’t have a light is a big plus for me. I need total darkness to sleep. Lastly, it’s very small and I can easily pack it when traveling. So, if you’re someone who needs a fan to sleep and wants a simple, sleek , compact option, give this a try.

Compact, powerful sound machine with multiple optionsI’m impressed by the amount of sound that this small machine can put out. Plus you have choices for a bunch of different fan sounds and a spectrum of white noise choices. I ended up picking one fan noise that I like and leaving it there.I like that the volume is adjustable, and it can go very loud, or soft it you want it. It does remember the prior sound and volume setting setting when you turn it off. What I dislike, because you are using a button to tap the volume up and down, you have nothing to indicate where the volume is set. I vary the volume, ramping up at the start of the night and down in the morning. I end up counting taps on the volume button, six up, six down, so I can get back to the same volume I was using before.Overall I am quite happy with my purchase, it’s helping me sleep in a house with multiple people where the floors squeak and all the noise carries.

Best sleepI was skeptical about this device. For years, I have used a Dohm sound machine. There is no looping because it is a fan rotating that makes the noise. Eventually, I would have to replace my machine as the fan would start to make a rattle noise ever so slightly that would interrupt my ability to fall asleep. I heard about brown noise on a local news channel that had a story on it and they tested white, pink, and brown noise and played a demonstration of each. I knew right away I need the brown noise. This little puppy has it plus a whole lot more. If you prefer fan sounds to static sounds, they have a variety to choose from! My first night using it I fell asleep so fast and stayed asleep! It was the best rest I had had in a while. I love this little thing. Oh, and that’s the other nice thing, it’s smaller than I anticipated.

I like it better than my DohmI started using a Marpac (now Yogasleep?) Dohm around 15 years ago and it has served me well. The problem with the Dohm is after a while, it starts making additional vibrating noises because of the mechanical parts wearing out over time. Predictably, the lifespan of the Dohm has been about 3-4 years of nightly use before it has to be replaced.I’ve been using a LectroFan for about a month now and I’m pretty pleased with it. Even though it’s fully digital, it produces continuous noise without looping. I always found the Dohm just a little too loud, even on the lowest setting with the holes closed down, so the volume control of the Lectrofan is nice to have. Because it’s not mechanical, I can keep it on my nightstand instead of the floor (the Dohm would cause the entire nightstand to vibrate). It’s much smaller and travels much better than the bulky Dohm. I don’t care for most of the noises that the LectroFan makes, but there are a couple of settings that sound similar to the Dohm and are perfectly adequate.The one thing I haven’t figured out yet is how to get it run off a USB power bank / battery pack. This would make it perfect for travel. I read another review that said the problem is it draws so little power that the power bank doesn’t sense anything is connected and it shuts off. Will update my review if I find something that works.

The first sleep machine I actually like!I am a super light sleeper and can hear everything so even very low sounds wake me up. Someone opening a door as gently as possible, whispering, someone opening some kind of packaging, even someone walking down hall on concrete floors with no shoes. I’ve tried other sleep machines and I eventually just turn off because they don’t help me sleep but keep me awake or wake me up whenever the sound loops. I even have an air purifier in my room that has pink noise, yeah it’s a thing, to help you sleep. My air purifier doesn’t bother me but it doesn’t help my sleep either.This sound machine I actually like. I’ve even tried nature sounds, white noise, on my phone and as soon as the sound cuts off or loops, I wake up. I actually thought sleep machines and sounds were just not for me until this summer when our room was super hot and purchased an oscillating fan. I was sleeping more and deeper with the fan but it was getting too cold to have it on so I decided to reevaluate sound machines.The sound quality is not horrible like other sound machines I’ve tried. It’s actually pretty great. It’s the closest I’ve found to the sound of a real fan. Sometimes I forget to turn it off when I get up because it sounds very real like. There is 0 looping meaning there is no break in the sound. It’s a continuous sound until you turn off but it dies have a timer if you prefer. The looping out breaks would wake me up if they actually got me to sleep. Other sound machines sound are like nails on a chalkboard to me so was a little hesitant to purchase this one.There is a good variety of sounds to pick from. I prefer to turn the sound all the way up so the way you just to drown out any noises. The trash truck in the morning, they come at like 4-5am was washing me up and now I sleep through it. My dog has barked and not woke up when I have the sound machine on. My husband comes home and takes naps after work. he was stirring from sound so I started turning it on. He also loves.It isn’t fancy looking or modern so I wouldn’t say it’s visually appealing. They out more tight into the sound quality than the actual design. It’s not the worst thing in the world but I wouldn’t say it’s pretty. It’s not huge. I would say it’s roughly the size of a hockey puck but taller. It would be easy to stick in a travel bag or even in my purse. It would be nice if it had option to take batteries for camping lol.This is seriously the first sound machine I have ever liked. I sleep so much better, deeper, with this sound machine. This is saying something as I am also in recovery from toxic mold exposure that has caused TBI like symptoms so getting sleep can be tough at times. Highly highly recommend.

Blocks out loud roommate!I have a roommate who plays video games 8-12 hours a day and goes to sleep at 3-4AM in the bedroom next to mine. The wall we share is thin, so I can hear him all the time I’m in my bedroom. I’ve told him dozens of times to shut up, but to no avail. This product, however, blocks him out, and when combined with earplugs, I don’t hear anything and end up sleeping great. An added benefit of this product is that my roommate complains about the noise it makes when he tries to go to sleep, so he has gotten quieter in order for me to lower the volume. Amazing white noise machine! It’s portable, and has great volume control too.

Best White noise machine ever!I’m a very light sleeper, noise often wakes me up. I’m sensitive to all kinds of noise, the furnace is in a closet in my room and often makes a popping ticking sound as the flu heats and cools. There is a bedroom above me and that person in my house has different sleeping hours than mine and even though they try to be quiet, I still hear things that wake me up. The first night with this white noise machine I never heard the furnace or the person above me. To say I am pleased is an understatement. This machine is small and would travel well, much smaller than more popular machines and so much better! I’ve had 3 nights in a row of the best sleep I’ve had in years! I highly recommend this machine!

I no longer need to moveI’ve lived in my condo for 16 years and have lived peacefully with my downstairs neighbors…until 6 months ago when a very loud couple moved in…and then their parents moved in with them. Did I mention they also like to play music and tv loudly and invite other guests over quite often? I bought ear plugs, noise cancelling headphones, sleepbuds, played the white noise app on my phone, ran the washing machine, dishwasher, exhaust fans in both my bathrooms and my kitchen – I could still hear them, and they did not respond well to my requests to please quiet down. The letters from my HOA helped some, but they are still very loud. I was jittery and stressed and was losing a lot of sleep, so I searched for the loudest white noise machine I could find and found this one. I read another review where the person stated that this white noise machine stopped them from killing their neighbors. It’s true. It is the only thing I have found that blocks out my neighbors’ noise. Sometimes when they are really loud at night, I wear sleepbuds and turn the white noise volume all the way up on the lectrofan and go to sleep. My neighbors hate the loud white noise, so they have quieted down even more. There is a pretty big range in volume, so you can play soft or REALLY loud white noise. Highly recommend this device.

Great to Find the Sound you LikeI gave away my old white noise machine and don’t really like the nature sounds ones that sound fake. When I developed tinnitus I decided to spend extra to get this one. It’s totally worth it. The different 10 colored sounds are great and I think one sounds a bit like rain. It’s very easy to change the volume and control it. I think I actually sleep better with it than I did before tinnitus because it helps with the street sounds. I don’t prefer the fan sounds, but I’m sure some people will love them.For travel it is a little smaller than the white noise machines I’ve had, but I’d like it better if it were a little smaller because I always do carry-on. If you check luggage…you’ll be happy with the size!

It’s not magic but it’ll helpYou’ll be happy if you don’t expect it to be magic. If your upstairs neighbors come home after going out, you’ll still hear their yelling. But I find I wake up far less on an average night because I can’t really hear their their walking around or their sink running like I used to. My dog also took a bit to adjust to the noise but seems to like it now!In short, it’s not going to make it impossible to hear your neighbors but it’s definitely good for distracting you from their noise- especially when sleeping.
