What is white noise?
White noise is more than just recordings of ocean waves and rain sounds. White noise is a collection of sounds that has the same intensity through the audible range, creating a uniform sound perfect for masking loud disruptions. In other words, white noise “smooths” out your audible environment for sleeping, studying, focusing, and more! While we call it “white noise” because that’s the most commonly used industry term, our Dohm white noise machines are creating pink noise. If you sample white noise, brown noise, and pink noise, you will quickly hear that actual white noise is annoying to your ear and not conducive to sleep!

Sleep like a baby!I am not a fan of sound machines that play music or nature sounds. They actually keep me up. I tried this because it is supposed to mimic a fan or air conditioner sound and it does exactly that. This is great because I don’t have to keep a dusty fan on to sleep anymore. I fall asleep within 10 minutes since I got it. Give it a shot!

Compact and usefulI bought this because a friend claims his similar one does wonders for light sleepers. I’m delighted with the purchase. It’s small and light weight. Has Nice 71-inch cord, so it can plug into a wall and be as close or far as you need. Control the volume by turning the top piece which covers or reveals more holes.Only con: it gets warm to the touch with long use.

Worked great for 14 months.We had the larger dohm with more control features already in my daughters room for over 2 years when I final purchased this one for my own room and travel. It worked great. It did start to slightly rattle several months in, but I could usually adjust it to get rid of it. I’m sad to say that after 14 months of nightly use and traveling with it, it no longer turns on. We still hope to replace it before our March cruise and Europe trip because I will not be able to share a room with my snoring husband without it!

Basicly a fan without the fanI was hoping this would be louder than what it is. I’m a light sleeper and my upstairs neighbor stampedes throughout his apartment all night, and this alone didn’t help at all. However, coupled with three devices playing white noise did finally do the job.Ultimately I like the machine, even if it doesn’t help by itself. I can definately tell a difference when its not on. It’s small, fits almost anywhere, and to adjust the sound you just lightly twist its outer shell. Pretty nifty!

Great sound coverageI bought this to help decrease the sounds of people talking in the office beside me. I helps muffle them and helps with privacy. It works great! You can change the volume by turning the case. It is perfect for what I needed. I did try it for sleep one night and it helped keep a constant sound that covered the outside noises.

Love itI absolutely love this white noise machine. I feel that it is more of a natural white noise rather than others that are more of a bluetooth speaker that is playing white noise. I do wish that it could be a tad louder but to others in the home they feel like it is loud enough.

Used it for at least a year continuously and still going.Great for apartments. Nice little noise maker. Can change the tone or “volume.” I’ve had one of the light cream/off white Dohms that seems to be of a harder plastic and after using it for years it finally kaput. But, I like this grey one. A little bit cheaper. Hopefully it will outlast the last one. Worth it.
